| Early Sunday morning the DiscHeads piled into their car to go to church. Our church on every 1st Sunday of the month is Nanaimo where we play a lengthly 36 hole tournament. We worship the flying plastic gods and nail them at tonals. The Nanaimo course is my favorite course on the gulf islands. |

My son Khide (age 8) came out and was a good sport. One of the nice things about Nanaimo is that there are several playgrounds scattered about the course so that he could play within eyesight of many of the tee pads. s always, the tournaments are 20 holes per round, at Par 60. The two extra holes are down by the river and are quite picturesque. Just don't land in the water.

At the beginning there was a full cooler of soda and chocolate bars. Between rounds, Ryan served up some awesome sandwiches and macaroni sald for lunch out of the back of his pickup. He even used plastic gloves. What a great time. This tournament is a MUST for anyone on the islands.

DiscHeads Shawn, Mark and Zyre competed for the 450$ ace pot, but did not succeed in scoring any aces. The pot was taken by a guy from SaltSpring Island who will use the money to buy a new engine for his boat (as well as lots of beer). |
